About Kelly

Kelly Williams is a local artist that is actively involved in the community. Her work has appeared in multiple galleries and businesses in the last few years and she will be featured in several shows in the coming months. She has a busy teaching schedule in her NW Studio. She helps others learn the technique of encaustic painting through workshops, helps those who wish to explore their inner landscape or work through specific issues using encaustic painting as a cathartic medium, and provides relaxing open studio classes for those that want to play.

She is also a recipient of a Community Project Grant from the Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC).  She had a year-long project called Recovery Panes. In this project, individuals  created small paintings that  come together to create a large installation addressing how addiction has impacted their lives.  Some of the venues it has been featured at include Portland City Hall,  the International Encaustics Retreat and Portland City Club over the last year.   To find out more about the project, or if your interested in displaying the installation, check out the blog.  Full color catalogs of the artwork with accompanying writings and matted prints are available for purchase.
